Cromwell’s bi-annual Model Train Exhibition 2021 Has been a fantastic success over the weekend welcoming visitors both locally and from further afield.

Good visitor turnout and great Central Otago weather meant a steady flow of visitors pondered the model train layouts.

Exhibition organisers Central Otago Model Society (COMS) are thankful to all those who came along and for taking such a keen interest in the different layouts.

A fantastic range of train types, themes, scales and formats were on display to spur the imagination, create conversation and interest everyone.

Andrew Wallace from Alexandra was the lucky winner of the raffle taking home a Lima model railway layout.

COMS wish to thank those who supported the raffle, particularly Liard Motorsport.

A major part of the train show is the effort made by exhibitors and traders who add significantly to the quality of the event.

Layouts came from Ashburton to Invercargill and regionally from Hawea to Ranfurly and Dunedin.

Club members and family did a great job volunteering to make sure ‘all the trains ran on time’ and thanks to Signbiz for assisting with the  beautiful new signage.

Cromwell Bowling Club was the perfect place to hold the exhibition and COMS wish tot thank the club for their support.

They also appreciate sponsorship from the Cromwell Town and Country Club and the Central Lakes Arts Support Scheme.

The COMS meets twice monthly in Alexandra and welcomes people interested in model trains or plastic modelling.

COMS specialise in both forms of modelling and love to share their passion with others. Contact  http://rexedra.gen.nz/coms/ or on facebook at Central Otago Model Society for further information.
