Behind the scenes, preparations are in full swing for this years’ annual Queen’s Birthday weekend Rotary Book Sale now only a week away.

An extravagant amount of reading material is poised to be showcased during the long weekend as book buffs prepare to flick through pages, scouring tables for their next big winter read.

The three-day annual event driven by Cromell Rotary Club members is always a popular event and attracts many avid readers across all ages.

The Cromwell Bowling Club on Alpha Street will fill with the pages of pre-loved books and magazines allowing everyone the chance to hunt down just what theyre looking for.

How-to books on how to cook, build a boat, grow orchids and or travel the globe are all hiding along the tresele tables, as well as those romance novels that allow the reader to drift to another time and place as each chapter unfolds.

Proceeds from the book sale will go to the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust, supporting local rescue missions and helping to provide the very best equipment.

The Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust relies on support from the community and are thrilled to have the support from the Cromwell community.

Rotarians are expecting another successful book sale and look forward to welcoming both locals and visitors as we approach our final long weekend for a while.

Winter is the perfect time to get your hands on some new reading material, and if you think reading is not your thing, the trick is to read something that peaks your interest.
