Sebastian

Fran Dustin and the Cromwell Youth Trust team are in awe at the community support and aroha being wrapped around Sebastian McFarlane and his family, in his fight against cancer.

Fran recently organised a ‘Dance for a Cause’ fundraising disco, which was supported by approximately 80 local young people from Years 7 and 8 and raised $800.

Cromwell Youth Trust also dedicated their ‘Give a Little’ page to Sebastian and his family for the month of July. This raised $800 as well, making a total of $1600.

The majority of the proceeds from the disco and the ‘Give a Little’ page have been put into petrol vouchers and supermarket vouchers to help Sebastian and his family during this time.

Sam (Sebastian’s mum) was speechless when she received the vouchers and she stated that it has all helped her so much. This is in response to the community support she has received through meal deliveries, donations from local businesses and CYT’s, also support of Cromwell College staff, fundraising efforts.

Fran says, “The CYT team would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped out with their time, money or goods to support this family during this time. The disco was a safe and incredible night, and the support has been a fantastic effort from a caring community.”
