When the government announced the South Island was moving to Level 3 Les Topping got on the phone to see how the team of supporters were placed to recommence work at Lot 47.

The response has been amazing.

All supporters are keen to keep the momentum going full swing.

It is hoped that the home will be completed early October ready to be sold at auction by Edinburgh Realty mid-November.

Lot 47

Way back in early 2019 when Doreen Evans floated an idea for a community fundraising project to support St John’s new station build Trends Kitchens were one of the first businesses to offer support by donating a kitchen.

Jessie Sutherland of S A Studio was able to incorporate the kitchen into the architecturally designed home.

Trends Kitchens have now installed the kitchen and it looks awesome!

Who else has donated time and materials this week: Garage Doors Central Otago installed the garage door;

45 Central Limited installed the two heat pumps, one in the living area and the other in the hallway;

Sangster Construction lent a hand at short notice to lay the heating elements in the bathroom;

Bella Casa have levelled the bathroom floors and waterproofed, ready to lay tiles suppled by the Tile Warehouse;

Adams Plumbing completed the stormwater drains and soak pits;

Lakes Concrete Placing prepared the pathways for pouring;

Irritech Otago installed ducts for the automated irrigation system.

A big thank to Trends Kitchens and all these businesses.

Doreen believes all these businesses will be under the pump due to lock down but they are still supporting this community fundraising project.

That is what Doreen loves about Cromwell – the positive “can do” spirit the people and businesses bring to our community.

A special “Thank You” to HireKing who have not only provided the security fencing but also any equipment required through out this project.

Les has popped into HireKing’s premises when something was needed and they have willing help out. This included a commercial vacuum which, surprisingly, Doreen said, Les knew how to use!
