With the onset of the vineyard growing season, Central Otago Winegrowers has launched a video showcasing Central Otago as a great place to live and work.

Vineyards are currently listing attractive work packages offering a range of roles in viticulture and winemaking, with both short and long-term roles available. With the highest percentage of certified organic vineyards in the country, there’s never been a better time to move to the south.

Central Otago Winegrowers, Acting Chairman, Andy Wilkinson comments, “Working in Central Otago vineyards is an amazing experience. As well as the opportunity to be part of the teams crafting some of the world’s finest wines, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery, walking trails, cycleways, lakes and rivers on those long summer days off. Our crews from across New Zealand and abroad, form long-term friendships that carry the great memories from time spent in Central Otago”.

In addition to short-term seasonal work, the wine industry offers several career opportunities with a diverse range of roles in viticulture, winemaking, marketing and business.

The Central Otago wine industry recently attracted Natalie Kirk from Marlborough. Now working as a senior supervisor in Central Otago vineyards, she saw “lots going on in the Central Otago wine scene. It’s a really interesting industry to be part of, and such a great place to live.”
