Despite what the signs say, you are permitted to take your dog with you when you visit the Cromwell Mall.
The local bylaw was changed some 18 months ago to allow dogs to be taken through the Mall, provided they are on a leash.
The Central Otago District Council will be updating signs throughout the district when the new Dog Control Officer takes up the position next month.
So, take your dog for a walk through the mall anytime you like, but don’t do it on rollerblades.
The other restrictions still apply.
