Art at the Packing Shed is happening again this summer.
Organised by The Central Otago Art Society, in partnership with Packing Shed Cafe, this lovely summer treat will be held for the third time in January 2022.
The event is held in alternate years along with Art in the Garden, giving residents and visitors to the area an opportunity to see local art and craft and listen to local musicians.
The event is free, and takes place in the beautiful garden setting of the Packing Shed, which has had major changes this year.
While the established gardens remain, a new area developed behind the old sheds.
The buildings have all been refurbished and rebuilt, making it a perfect place for the event.
There is ample space for visitors to meander around the craft stalls, view the exhibition work in the gallery and enjoy the entertainment.
On Saturday, 15 January, Jim Savigny (guitar, vocals) and Aimie Baird and Milton (guitar vocals) will be providing entertainment, and on 16 January it will be Libby Hamilton (piano, vocals) and Nick Meissel and Bronwyn Barnes (piano, vocals).
Expect to see original handcrafted jewellery, hand-knitted and woven creations, sculpture, ceramics, prints, photography, painting.
The new Packing Shed Cafe will be serving plenty of food and refreshments.
Melanie Eade says, “Come along and watch working artists create paintings, ceramics and more.
Enjoy the numerous quality art stalls, face painting for the kids and live entertainment by local musicians. Remember, Covid Vaccine conditions will apply, so you will need your vaccine passport.
