CODC has welcomed news from Creative New Zealand of additional government ‘top-up’ funding to support the arts sector through the Delta outbreak.

Of the $1 million ‘Delta top-up’ allocated to the Creative Communities Scheme to be distributed to territorial authorities on a per capita basis Central Otago has received an extra $7000 on top of its existing annual allocation.

Assessment Committee Chair Councillor Shirley Calvert said it was fantastic news to have a funding boost for the arts locally.

“If you have an idea for a project that has an arts or creative cultural focus, and would benefit our local community, then get thinking about it this festive season and make a resolution to get working on your application in the New Year.

We’d love to see your bright ideas for ways we can promote, support and increase participation in arts and culture in Central Otago.”

Applications are currently being called for in the latest round of Creative Communities Scheme funding with the closing date of Friday 11 February.

Application forms are available from Council’s website www.codc.govt.nz/funding or from all Council service centres.
