We are making excellent progress on constructing two roundabouts to improve safety on SH8B and the busy SH8B-SH6 intersection and are quickly moving to the next phase of works.
This means the traffic layout will be changing.
From Monday 14 March, SH6 will become one way only from SH8B intersection to Shortcut Road when heading to Wanaka.
If you are travelling from Wanaka, you will be directed via Shortcut Road, to Cromwell or Queenstown.
From Tuesday 15 March, Barry Avenue will be closed at the intersection with SH8B (near The Gate).
Access to The Gate Hotel complex, Cromwell town centre and to re-join Barry Avenue, will be via Sargood Road.
Please follow the detour signs. These temporary changes to the traffic layout will be in place until end May 2022.
