The ANZAC Day service will be in the Cromwell cemetery on Cemetery Road at 09.00hrs. On completion of the cemetery service the detachment will then move to the Cenotaph at the Memorial Hall on Melmore Terrace for a service at 10.00hrs, all are welcome.

The RSA team have been busy since last November, cleaning the graves and headstones of our former service members. The team have between them contributed more than 200 hours of effort and there is still a little more to do!

In total there are 150 graves or headstones that required cleaning, some of the results are very pleasing.

It was really nice to have received various messages of support and assistance from the community for the graves project, which was warmly received by the team.

A special mention in dispatches goes to HireKING who provided us with some equipment for one of our longer working days.

Another mention goes to Josie and the Team at Highlands, Josie came to see us when we had a big team in the cemetery and then offered to shout us morning tea which was very quickly accepted.

The RSA section in the cemetery is completed and ready for the services on ANZAC day,

Over 350,000 men and women left our shores to do their duty and their service and their sacrifice should never be forgotten.
