The 2022 Rotary Book Sale supports Cromwell Plunket
A team of Rotarians has been very busy sorting through and cataloguing thousands of books that have once again been generously donated by the Cromwell and districts community. We thank you very much for this support to enable the vital service of Plunket to continue its valuable work with babies and new mums in our community.
The Plunket volunteer base is very light as the core volunteers are usually parents of young children themselves whom much of their time and energy is being consumed parenting small children.
The local 2021-2022 Fundraising Plan took a significant hit due to COVID so Cromwell Rotary is delighted to be able to support this valuable service in our community.
This will enable Plunket to continue to fund our local community services such as: MumSpace – our Maternal Wellbeing Support Group, Gigglers & Wrigglers – our Under 2s Playgroup, various parenting education, and support sessions as well as some funding for updating the much loved and well utilized Cromwell Plunket Rooms.
We have a great selection of reading material for you this year; rare treasures, special interest collections, masses of current fiction and a fantastic assortment of children’s books, which are now safely stored in sturdy banana boxes waiting to be transported to the venue ready for opening day. The sale will again provide all ages with many happy hours of reading at bargain prices.
The non-fiction books are all carefully catalogued into topics arranged loosely in alphabetical order to make browsing easier. The fiction books are grouped according to price and in some cases we have genre groups.
Once again there will be many good quality jigsaws, current and special interest magazines as well as a great selection of CD’s, DVD’s, LP’s, and sheet music.
There is sure to be something for everyone, please bring your own bags to load up with books or support our fundraising initiative by purchasing a light coton reusable Rotary bag.
