Connect Cromwell

Creative pursuits are dominating so far, as applicants submit their ideas for a share of a $20,000 prize pool.

Connect Cromwell, a Community-Led-Development group are running ‘Winning Ideas’, a competition where anyone can pitch a community-focused idea to a panel.

Community Facilitator Tania Partridge said groups were outlining their ideas via an application form and the top ten would then be chosen to vie for a share of the funds.  Successful applicants could win up to $5000 to make their project a reality.

“They can present their idea to the panel in any way they like, there’s very few rules, it just needs to be something good for the community that might bring people together or create a positive experience. We are excited by the range of enquiries so far – there are lots of active groups and individuals with great project ideas, especially amongst the creative types so far.”

She said the group had extended the deadline for applications to be submitted to August 6 to allow people more time after the busy school holiday period.

Any groups or individuals can email info@connectcromwell.nz for an application form.

A date for the fun, informal event where ideas are pitched would be announced soon.
