Lot 47 Update

Flooring Xtra have donated the underlay and carpet for the hallway and bedrooms in this home the community has built. The team from Flooring Xtra were on site this week laying the carpet. Doreen Evans and Les Topping popped in and commented how friendly and professional the Flooring Xtra team were. They were even willing to chat on video for Doreen’s facebook posts. Doreen said it was exciting to see how happy the team from Flooring Xtra were to be doing their bit for this community fundraising project.

S & B Civil poured the concrete on the patio. Next week Bella Casa will tile the patio with tiles donated by the Tile Warehouse. It will then be ready for the outdoor table which is being made by the Menz Shed with a stone top donated by AGM Stone.

Colin Buchanan from Buchanan Hire donated 40mm of schist and delivered it to site to go around the flagstones, donated by Wanaka Stone, outside the master bedroom.

A special “Thank you” this week to S J Allen who supplied a port-a-loo during this build and serviced it. Not only was it used by those involved with Lot 47 but also by neighbouring builds who did not have a toilet on site. S J Allen removed their port-a-loo this week so Doreen hopes no one will be caught short!  Another special “Thank you” goes out to R & R Hiab for donating a container. It was very useful for storing products and equipment as well as morning teas that were supplied by Rotary and Lions Club members for anyone helping out with this project.

SBS Bank are kindly sponsoring the “Closed In” Shout on the 8 October at 4:30pm at Lot 47. If you have been involved in this project in any way whatsoever, please come to the shout. By so many businesses each doing a little bit, for the benefit of our community, together we have created this amazing home. Let us celebrate what has been achieved to date.
