Arts Central’s re-launched Easter Arts Cromwell Exhibition, ACE’22, is gaining momentum. According to Co-Chair PKay Maracin “Entries are rolling in – this is so exciting! We definitely have some new faces submitting their art”.

The The Arts Central Exhibition 2022 (ACE ’22) is a showcase of Visual Artworks made in the Cromwell Basin and surrounding region. The exhibition will be held at The Gate Conference Centre over Easter, 15 – 18 April 2022.

One of the main aims of the exhibition is to broaden the interpretation of creative art by including all sorts of creative visual arts – jewellery, furniture, textiles, and well as the more traditional painting, drawing, felt and fabric crafts.

Another goal of Chair Victoria Dawes is to encourage newcomers who may not have shown their work in an exhibition before.

They are keen to offer them help to bring their work to a professional level.

Last weekend the group held a photography workshop where applicants were able to have their work professionally digitalised. This was useful not only for the online application to the exhibition, but also as a record of the work for the artist – to build their personal portfolio.

A digital submissions workshop was also held in Forage Cafe on 13 March, to assist people to do their on-line application. Another will be held at Forage on 18 March, submission deadline.

The organisers, in their selection of artworks, are seeking diversity, and a fresh contemporary feel. “Everyone is welcome to submit.”
